ASCO's core business is providing materials management and logistics services to the Oil & Gas industry.
In Western Australia we service our clients through the provision of Supply Base and associated materials management services & logistics services as well as both fixed and mobile camp services.
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic, highly motivated, experienced and proactive Transport & Operations Coordinator to provide coordination and operational support ensuring that all team members work safely, efficiently and effectively while providing high quality service to our customers.
Based in Welshpool and reporting to the Operations Manager for Perth and Dongara, the ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within the Logistics or O&G; industries.
What your role at ASCO will look like:
Coordinate day to day operations and provide direction and support to the team (including subcontractors) to achieve set goals and maximise efficiency.
Schedule transport operations to achieve customer requirements.
Ensure all drivers have the correct documentation and equipment.
Maintain transport and maintenance database, ensure all information is current and accurate.
Ensure drivers are scheduled to operate within their allowed working hours.
Identify new opportunities and continuous improvement in transport and facility operations.
Prepare driver rosters to maximise utilisation in accordance with safety parameters.
Ensure the fleet and facility is maintained to the required industry safety standards.
Ensure accurate and timely communications to the team on day-to-day operational activities.
Plan, coordinate and assist with loading and unloading of trucks, picking orders and forklift operations (if ticket provided).
Plan, coordinate and oversee load restraint of all items, materials and equipment being dispatched from the yard.
Ensure that operational objectives are communicated and achieved on a daily basis.
Ensure site specific inductions, training, performance records and required paperwork is reviewed and completed accordingly.
Any other duties as required within skill set
What you can bring to ASCO:
Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the Logistics or O&G; industries
Experience in transportation routing and scheduling, including systems applications.
Exposure to material management system
Current Forklift Licence (Desirable)
HC Licence (Desirable)
First Aid (Desirable)
Competent in:
Manual Handling
Permit to Work
Oil Spill Awareness
Incident Investigation
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of transport, Road Transport Legislation, Chain of Responsibility and materials management operations
Ensure a strong focus on compliance,
complete tasks safely and in accordance with the Chain of Responsibility.
Ability to effectively dispatch and route drivers, analyse situations and recommend an effective course of action.
Attention to detail and ability to plan and manage priorities.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications and databases.
Solid communication, negotiation and relationship building skills.
Excellent organisational and communication skills (written and verbal)
