Volleyball WA is seeking a Performance Pathways Coach to play a key role in delivering high-quality athlete and coach development programs across the state.
Working within a nationally aligned performance pathway, this role blends coaching, program delivery and coach development, supporting athletes from talent identification through to national representation across both indoor and beach volleyball.
You'll contribute to a growing, connected pathway system and play an important role in the development and delivery of the Volleyball WA Academy.
About the RoleReporting to the Pathways Manager, you will support the delivery of state-wide pathway programs and strengthen coaching capability across Western Australia.
This is a hands-on role with a mix of coaching, mentoring, program coordination and stakeholder engagement, operating across metro and regional WA.
Key ResponsibilitiesPathway Program Delivery
Support the design and delivery of VWA performance pathway programs, including Academy, State Teams and talent ID initiatives
Deliver high-quality coaching across identified programs (indoor and/or beach)
Contribute to planning and delivery of camps, clinics and competitions
Ensure alignment with national pathway frameworks
Coach Development & Workforce Capability
Contribute to building a structured coach development framework
Provide mentoring, observation and feedback to pathway and emerging coaches




Support delivery of coach education opportunities, including workshops and courses
Help strengthen the coaching workforce pipeline, including regional areas
Regional & Statewide Engagement
Support delivery of pathway programs across metro and regional WA
Deliver regional visits, development clinics and camps
Build relationships with clubs, associations and stakeholders
Increase accessibility and visibility of pathway opportunities
Talent Identification & Athlete Development
Assist in identifying and tracking talented athletes
Support individual athlete development planning and progression
Contribute to athlete selection and pathway transitions
Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with VWA staff, Volleyball Australia and key partners
Maintain accurate athlete and coach data
Contribute to reporting for management, Board and funding partners
Support program logistics, operations and delivery

Experience coaching within performance or pathway environments




Ability to develop athletes and mentor coaches
Solid communication and relationship-building skills
Excellent organisational and planning capability
A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
Essential Requirements
Volleyball coaching accreditation (Level 3+)
Experience in athlete and/or coach development programs
Working With Children Check and First Aid certification
Desirable
Experience in state or national pathway systems
Understanding of Australian high-performance sport structures
Relevant tertiary qualifications in sport or coaching
Working at Volleyball WA
Contribute to a state-wide, nationally aligned performance system
Play a role in developing the next generation of WA athletes and coaches
Work across both metro and regional communities
Be part of a collaborative and values-driven sporting organisation
Working Conditions
Full-time role
Flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Regular travel across WA, including regional areas
Occasional interstate travel
