Adaptive Strength

Western Australia

Booragoon, Perth WAPart-time | Approximately ***** hours per week initially
This Isn't a Typical Physiotherapy Clinic RoleWe are looking for a Physiotherapist with a genuine strength-training background who wants more from their role than spending the entire day inside a treatment room.
This position offers the best of both worlds.
You will apply your clinical physiotherapy skills through assessment, treatment and injury management, while also stepping onto the gym floor to deliver active rehabilitation, coach strength-based exercise and help clients rebuild their movement, capacity and confidence.
You should enjoy strength training, feel comfortable working in a gym environment and want to continue developing your exercise coaching skills.
At Adaptive Strength, we bridge the gap from rehabilitation to performance.
That means helping clients progress through the complete journey:
Assessment → Treatment → Rehabilitation → Strength → Confidence → Long-term progress
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Physiotherapist with a minimum of two years' clinical experience to join our team in a flexible part-time position.
This is primarily a physiotherapy role, but it offers much more variety than a traditional clinic-only position.
Your week may include one-on-one physiotherapy, initial consultations and movement assessments, gym-based rehabilitation, individualised strength programming, supervised personal training, return-to-work and return-to-sport rehabilitation, and strength development for junior athletes.
The role will initially involve approximately ***** hours per week, with genuine potential to increase your hours as your caseload grows.
Some early-morning, daytime and evening availability will be required.
This may include occasional 6:00 am starts as part of the gym-floor coaching component.
The exact structure can be discussed based on your experience, availability and the needs of the business.
A Role Built Around Variety—Not a Full Day of Back-to-Back Appointments
This is a hands-on and engaging role where you will move between the treatment room and the gym floor throughout your week.
You will still assess and treat clients one-on-one, manage musculoskeletal injuries and use your clinical reasoning as a Physiotherapist.
However, you will not spend your entire day working through back-to-back appointments in a small treatment room.
A significant part of the role involves stepping onto the gym floor and actively guiding clients through their rehabilitation.
You may begin with an assessment and treatment in the clinic before moving into the gym to:
Coach the exercises forming part of the client's rehabilitation
Teach and refine fundamental strength movements
Review technique and movement quality
Progress loading as the client's capacity improves
Deliver one-on-one gym-based rehabilitation
Support clients within supervised small-group training sessions
Develop rehabilitation and strength programs that evolve with the client
Work with active adults, injured workers,

recreational athletes and junior athletes
You will remain involved in the client's progress rather than simply providing treatment, prescribing exercises and hoping they complete them at home.
You can see how they move, coach them in real time, adjust their program and continue progressing them from injury management into meaningful strength and long-term physical confidence.
One session may involve assessing and treating a musculoskeletal injury.
The next may involve coaching a client through a strength-based rehabilitation program, assisting someone returning to work or sport, or helping a junior athlete develop their movement and physical capacity.
For a Physiotherapist who enjoys being active, building relationships and seeing the rehabilitation process through, this creates a more varied and rewarding working environment than a traditional clinic-only role.
This is not a clinic-only position.
It is not a gym-only position.
It is a genuine combination of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, active rehabilitation, strength training and long-term client care—with physiotherapy remaining the primary focus.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will:
Be a qualified Physiotherapist with current AHPRA registration
Have at least two years of clinical physiotherapy experience
Have unrestricted working rights and be available to work in Australia
Enjoy treating musculoskeletal injuries and recurring pain
Believe in active rehabilitation and exercise-based treatment
Have a personal or professional background in strength training
Feel comfortable working in a gym environment
Enjoy teaching and coaching people through exercise
Communicate clearly and build strong relationships with clients
Be motivated, empathetic and committed to achieving meaningful outcomes
Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Be willing to learn, receive feedback and continue developing your clinical and coaching skills
Hold, or be willing to obtain, current First Aid and CPR certification
Highly Desirable
The strongest applicants may also have experience or an interest in:
Private practice physiotherapy
Gym-based rehabilitation
Strength and conditioning
Exercise programming and coaching
Return-to-sport rehabilitation
Working with active adults or recreational athletes
Junior strength and athletic development
Workers' compensation and return-to-work rehabilitation
Kettlebell training
Tennis, racket sports or other court-based sports
A background in tennis, racket sports or junior athletic development would be highly regarded but is not essential.

Formal strength and conditioning qualifications are welcome but are not required.
Why Join Adaptive Strength?
You will be joining an established multidisciplinary team with access to:
More than 400 square metres of fully equipped strength and rehabilitation space, including dedicated areas for physiotherapy, one-on-one rehabilitation and supervised personal training
A genuine training setting—not a small clinic exercise room with a few pieces of basic equipment
The space and equipment to progress clients from early rehabilitation through to strength, performance and long-term training
Collaboration with Physiotherapists, an Exercise Physiologist, strength coaches and remedial massage therapists
An established junior athlete development program
Opportunities to develop your skills in active rehabilitation, exercise programming and strength coaching
Flexible part-time hours with genuine potential to build your caseload
Most importantly, you will work in an environment where exercise rehabilitation is not treated as an afterthought.
It is a central part of how we help our clients recover, become stronger and return to the activities they enjoy.
