The Museum is seeking a creative leader with demonstrated experience in conceiving and delivering participatory experiences to lead the Museum Engagement team.
The Museum Engagement Team prioritises and fosters social inclusion.
This team creates and delivers participatory museum experiences that connect people of all ages and backgrounds.
The suite of programs facilitates conversations about people's diverse experiences of democracy.
The Manager, Museum Engagement is responsible for leading a creative multidisciplinary team to deliver MoAD's unique participatory programming and selected exhibition experiences.
This includes events such as MoAD's Enlighten Festival offering, Election Festivals, self-guided museum experiences, and exhibition experiences like the PlayUP exhibition and daily facilitated programming for children five and under with their adults.
The Museum Engagement Team is in the Centenary and Engagement Section.
This role will be part of the small team responsible for strategic planning and delivery of MoAD's Centenary program throughout ****.
This role manages a team of four staff plus casual staff.
This role is a community focused role that works closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders and collaborates with artists, designers and community partners.
Specific projects and exhibition experiences driven and overseen by the Manager Museum Engagement include, but are not limited to:
• Exhibition lead concept, design (2D and 3D) and content for engagement-driven exhibitions; including daily facilitated programming in PlayUP
• Exhibition support and/or co-lead for design (2D and 3D) and content development for hands-on experiences in the museum's permanent and temporary exhibitions
• Lead the experience conceptulisation, design (2D and 3D)



and event delivery for MoAD's Enlighten Festivals, Election Festivals, PlayUP Takeover events, Centenary festival and associated public programming and selected school holiday programs.
• Lead the concept, content and design for self-guided visitor experiences, including printed collateral
The key duties of the position include:Under direction from the Head of Centenary and Engagement, the Manager of Museum Engagement will be required to:
• Lead the creative direction, content development, design and facilitation for participatory public programs and exhibition experiences.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a creative and multidisciplinary team alongside managing competing priorities between a project's creative ambitions and resources such as budget, schedules and priorities, including fostering staff career development and implementing training programs, to deliver high quality outcomes for the Museum.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community members, government officials and other organisations.
Represent the Museum at community events, conferences, in the media and in meetings with external stakeholders to help grow the organisation's presence in the community.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure that community engagement efforts are integrated across diverse workflows.
• Coordinate community outreach efforts including large-scale events,



public programming and other initiatives.
• Develop, scope and champion new creative ideas for public programs, outreach and exhibitions experiences.
• Oversee all project management including procurement, budgeting, stakeholder management, reporting, and risk management.
• Actively manage work health and safety, and other legislative obligations to deliver high quality projects that drive the Museum to deliver on its strategic objectives.
• Foster a team culture of creative practice and experimentation through inclusive ideation processes, prototyping new program concepts and embedding playful, interactive approaches into project delivery.
• Gather, analyse and apply feedback to inform the organisation's decisions and strategies.
This can involve developing and implementing visitor surveys, devising ways to collect formal and informal visitor feedback and applying these learnings to program development and evaluations.

• have, or be willing to undertake the process to obtain, a Working with Vulnerable People registration; and
• have a security clearance or be willing to undertake the process to obtain a baseline clearance (after commencement):and
