About the RoleWorking in the Facility Management Section of the Embassy, the General Maintenance Worker carries out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and minor repair work on the plumbing systems and fixtures, general welding and masonry work in all mission buildings and facilities, including residential owned and leased properties.
Duties
Installs and repairs minor building plumbing systems and fixtures, concreate paving units and walkways, and wall assemblies and finishes, ensuring that all tasks are completed with applicable codes and manufacturer recommendations.
Orders and stocks supply and replacement parts to ensure availability for future needs.
Performs preventative maintenance by inspecting, adjusting, trouble shooting minor plumbing systems and fixtures, welding equipment and supplies, safety equipment, concrete and masonry walls, floor and ceiling assemblies.
Assists in preparing documents for maintenance, repairs, and renovation, including soliciting and monitoring contractors.
Escorts local contractors when required.
Skills and Experience
Completion of secondary school (Year 10), is required.
Two (2) years experience in the repair and maintenance of plumbing and commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical heating, refrigeration,



and ventilation systems is required.
Must have a valid and full drivers license, held for a minimum of 5 years.
