Disability Support Worker – Whyalla
Aspire Together is seeking two reliable Disability Support Workers for casual participant support in Whyalla.
We are looking for support workers who can provide respectful, person-centred support and work professionally with participants, families and the wider team.
About Aspire Together
Aspire Together is a disability support provider established in ****.
We support NDIS participants with in-home support, community access, skill development, respite, short-term accommodation and Supported Independent Living.
We focus on respectful, person-centred support that helps participants build independence, stay connected to their community and exercise choice and control in daily life.
About the role
You will provide practical, social and emotional support to a participant in line with their NDIS goals and individual support plan.
Duties may include:
• supporting daily routines and independent living skills• assisting with community access, shopping and appointments• helping with light household tasks and meal preparation• encouraging social participation and confidence• providing calm,
respectful emotional support• following participant support plans and Aspire Together procedures• completing shift notes and reporting any concerns appropriately
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
• reliable, punctual and skilled• warm, respectful and patient• confident working independently in the community• able to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries• comfortable supporting participants with everyday routines• able to communicate clearly with participants, families and the team• willing to follow support plans, direction and workplace procedures
Required
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain:
• Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services or similar• current First Aid and CPR• NDIS Worker Screening Check or DHS Disability Clearance• current Australian driver's licence• comprehensively insured and roadworthy vehicle• basic phone or computer skills for shift notes and communication
