Chalice Mining

Perth

About ChaliceChalice is a leading ASX-listed exploration specialist located in West Perth with an unrivalled portfolio of district-scale, precious and base metals projects across Australia.
Our major greenfield discovery in early ****, Gonneville, defined a new mineral province in Western Australia – the West Yilgarn Ni-Cu-PGE Province.
In addition, Chalice holds several other generative exploration opportunities across WA, NT and SA.
Gonneville Palladium-Nickel-Copper ProjectThe Gonneville Resource contains a unique blend of critical minerals essential for decarbonisation and urbanisation, including palladium, platinum, nickel, copper and cobalt.
Due to its strategic importance, the discovery has recently been approved as a "Strategic Project" by the Western Australian State Government and granted "Major Project Status" by the Australian Federal Government.
It is Australia's first major palladium discovery located less than 90 minutes' drive from the Perth CBD, Gonneville offers truly unique and convenient access to site.
Join the Chalice teamThe impact of this globally significant discovery has been profound for Chalice, cementing its reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative explorers in Australia.
Now is the time to join the team!
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Principal Data Specialist to join our Perth-based team.
This is a broad information management role where you will be the custodian of Chalice's data ecosystem across exploration and development, responsible for the acquisition, storage, management, validation and visualisation of all spatial and non-spatial data across the business.
The emphasis of this role is on being a true information manager – someone who understands data holistically across the business, not just a database administrator.

Equal weight is placed on GIS and spatial capability as on database management, and you will be expected to drive continuous improvement in how Chalice captures, manages and uses its data to support exploration and development decision-making.
Reporting to the General Manager Exploration, this full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative, technically driven team workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Information Architecture
Development and ongoing management of Chalice's overall data framework, including acquisition, storage, validation, access and visualisation of all exploration and development-related vector and raster data
In-house management of the Chalice drill hole database for the Gonneville Development Project and regional exploration programs
Manage and maintain all spatial and non-spatial datasets across the business, ensuring data integrity, accessibility and version control
Liaise with Chalice's IT provider to ensure the data management system is running efficiently and securely
Manage software licences as required
Seek out and initiate operational efficiencies in data management, with focus on cost reduction and workflow streamlining
Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies in data management and geoscience informatics
GIS & Spatial
Production of high-quality maps for ASX reports, board presentations and team use
Spatial data management across tenement, exploration, heritage,

rehabilitation and development datasets
Support the exploration and development teams with spatial analysis and GIS problem-solving
Management and compilation of large datasets to support generative and recent business development work
Cross-Business Support
Assist exploration, development, engineering, metallurgy and approvals teams with data collation and management
Support data management across exploration point and polygon data, drill hole and sample data, rehabilitation monitoring, geotechnical, metallurgical and water data, PoW data and heritage data
Assist geologists with management and compilation of large datasets to support generative exploration and new business development
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience in a data management or information management role within the minerals exploration or mining industry
Strong GIS capability — proficiency in QGIS and/or ArcGIS is essential
Experience with drill hole database management systems, including Datashed 5 and/or Geobank
Exposure to Micromine and/or Leapfrog for 3D geological modelling and data visualisation
A broad, business-wide view of data — you think about information flows across the organisation, not just within a single system
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams
Experience in a listed mining or exploration company environment is advantageous
