ROLE – Design Manager
SALARY - $160,000 - $200,000 per annum, dependent on experience
TYPE – Permanent
LOCATION – Adelaide, SA
My client is a leading engineering business who deliver material handling projects.
They are looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their team in Adelaide.
The Design Manager will ideally have the following attributes:A background in Mechanical Engineering, Design and Project ManagementPrevious experience in materials handling, construction, mining, minerals processing or a similar heavy engineering environmentDegree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering disciplineProven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and delivering complex engineering projectsStrong understanding of engineering design processes, standards and quality assuranceExperience using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo or similarExcellent project management skills with the ability to manage budgets, resources and project schedulesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAble to mentor,



develop and support engineering teamsCommercial awareness with the ability to balance technical excellence and project objectives
The Design Manager role will involve:Leading and managing a small design team across multiple engineering projectsFull design lifecycle from concept through to manufacture, installation and commissioningReviewing and approving engineering designs, calculations and technical documentationWorking closely with project managers, clients and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project deliveryEnsuring compliance with relevant engineering standards, company procedures and quality requirementsSupporting the development and continuous improvement of engineering processes and design standardsProviding technical guidance, mentoring and leadership to engineers and designersManaging design risks, resolving technical challenges and driving cutting-edge engineering solutionsSupporting business growth through client engagement, proposal development and technical input where required
