About the position
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Turf Farm Supervisor to join our team on a part-time basis with the potential for additional hours during busy periods.
The role is approximately 30 hours per week to begin with.While weekend work is not mandatory, occasional Saturday pick-ups may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee turf production operations, including irrigation, mowing, spraying, fertilizing and harvesting.
- Manage and lead farm team.
- Deliver turf to customers- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers- Manage turf quality to ensure a consistent, high-quality product- Operate and maintain turf machinery including tractors, harvesters, semi-truck and forklift- Implement efficient irrigation practices- Stock management, including conducting and assisting with yard work- Animal welfare,
including assisting with stock observations- Maintain workplace health and safety compliance
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in farm management, turf production, agriculture, or a related field- Mechanical aptitude with farm machinery and equipment- Current drivers license - Current HC or MC license with current NHVR logbook (Roadranger experience preferred)- Good traffic history and safe driving practices are required- Load restraint experience- Strong people leadership and team management skills- Comfortable completing work reports and basic record keeping- Solid work ethic, reliability and the ability to work well within a small team
