Our modern, specialist orthodontic practice is looking for a Laboratory & Dental Assistant to join our team long term.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves precision, organisation and digital workflows, while still enjoying being part of a supportive clinical team.
Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7:45am – 5:15pm
Friday: 7:45am – 10:45am
About the RoleThis is a predominantly laboratory-based position where you'll play a vital role in ensuring our clinical team has everything they need to deliver exceptional patient care.
You'll take ownership of our in-house laboratory processes, digital workflows and stock management, while also providing chairside assistance when required.
No two days are exactly the same, but your responsibilities will include:
Fabricating Essix retainers and other in-house orthodontic appliances
3D printing orthodontic models and preparing digital workflows
Manufacturing indirect bonding trays
Tracking intraoral scans sent to external laboratories and monitoring appliance turnaround times
Receiving, checking and organising laboratory work
Ordering and maintaining clinical and laboratory stock
Liaising with dental laboratories and supplier representatives
Maintaining an organised, efficient and well-stocked laboratory
Assisting chairside during orthodontic appointments as required
Taking orthodontic records, including digital photographs, intraoral scans and radiographs (where qualified)
Performing sterilisation procedures and maintaining high infection control standards
Supporting the clinical team to ensure the practice runs smoothly
About YouWe're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys organisation, systems and producing high-quality work.
You'll thrive in this role if you:
Have previous Dental Assisting experience (orthodontic experience is highly regarded but not essential)
Have exceptional attention to detail and take pride in accuracy
Love working with systems, checklists and tracking processes
Are confident managing multiple tasks and staying organised
Enjoy working independently while remaining a collaborative team player
Are comfortable spending much of your day in the laboratory
Have strong computer skills and enjoy working with digital technology and spreadsheets
Have excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
Hold a Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (preferred but not essential)
