Job DescriptionWisegrow Investments Pty Ltd The Microbiologist is responsible for providing specialist microbiological expertise to support the investigation, assessment and management of Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) across industrial assets.
Working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment, the role combines laboratory microbiology, field investigations and technical consulting to assist clients in understanding microbial risks affecting infrastructure, pipelines, storage facilities and process systems.
The position contributes to the delivery of technically robust, scientifically defensible and commercially practical solutions for clients operating across mining, energy, water, defence and heavy industry sectors.
This position is open exclusively to Australian residents .

General Uphold and carry out all TECHTs policies and procedures.
Deliver all projects according to TECHTs Project Standards, Processes and Compliance requirements.
Communicating goals to other professionals win the team.

Perform your duties and responsibilities in a proper and efficient manner using all due care and skill.
Devote the whole of your time and attention to your work.
Use your best endeavours to protect and promote the TECHTs business.
Aim to coordinate your time to achieve 70% chargeable hours.
Technical Services Perform microbiological analysis of environmental and industrial samples.
Identify microorganisms associated with MIC using appropriate microbiological techniques.
Interpret microbiological data to assess corrosion risk.
Assist in determining mechanisms contributing to asset degradation.
Support investigations into corrosion failures and contamination events.
Prepare technical reports summarising findings and recommendations.
Contribute to development of monitoring and mitigation strategies.
Laboratory Activities Conduct microbiological culturing and analysis.
Prepare media and reagents.
Maintain laboratory records.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Ensure laboratory quality systems are maintained.
Assist with method validation and continuous improvement.
Field Services Participate in site inspections.
Collect environmental and process samples.
Assist with sampling programs.
Liaise with client representatives during field investigations.
Maintain chain of custody documentation Consulting Assist with preparation of client proposals.
Participate in technical meetings.
Present findings to clients where appropriate.
Support multidisciplinary engineering projects involving corrosion science.
Collaborate with corrosion engineers and materials specialists.
Research & Development Contribute to development of new microbiological testing methodologies.
Assist with validation of emerging technologies.
Support grant-funded research projects.
Contribute to publication of technical papers where appropriate.
Maintain awareness of developments in microbiology and corrosion science.
Integrated Management System Comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS), including Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety, and Information Security requirements.
Follow applicable policies, procedures and work instructions.
Identify and report risks, hazards, incidents, nonconformities and improvement opportunities.
Protect company information, assets and confidential data.
Work safely and minimise environmental impacts.
Maintain accurate records relevant to your role.
Complete required training and maintain competency.
Participate in audits, inspections and continual improvement activities.
Ensure team compliance with IMS requirements and applicable legal obligations.
Provide resources, training and supervision to maintain competence.
Monitor performance, address nonconformities and implement corrective actions.
Promote a culture of quality, safety, environmental responsibility and information security.
Review and manage risks, objectives and improvement initiatives within their area of responsibility.
