About ACT Health Centre
Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy.
The Health Centre opened mid-**** and is a large facility.
It services approximately **** military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College.
There is a 24-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7.
Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy.
Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles.
Standard hours of operation are generally ********* Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).




This role is working Day shift Monday, Wednesday and Friday and working **** to **** on Tuesday and Thursday.
What you'll do
Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members
Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions
Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical setting where patient wellness is paramount
What you bring
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
One of the following:
ACMHN credentialed
Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
Mental Health trained nurse / UK trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
Minimum two years' Post RN general registration experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting
Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' and 'Psychological Therapy' as per Medicare Schedule
Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
Australian Citizenship required to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
