Trainee Drilling Fluids Field Specialist
.
This is an entry-level opportunity for someone looking to begin a long-term career in the drilling, mining and drilling-fluids industry. Previous drilling-fluids experience is not required—we will provide structured technical training, practical field experience and ongoing mentoring.
We are not looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to learn our products, systems and approach to customer support.
The Role
Working alongside our experienced technical and sales team, you will gradually learn how to:
Provide drilling-fluid support to drilling contractors and field crews
Assist customers with product selection, fluid mixing and basic troubleshooting
Conduct drilling-fluid testing and record field results
Develop strong working relationships with drillers, offsiders, supervisors and purchasing teams
Deliver product demonstrations and assist with customer training
Follow up customers and identify potential sales opportunities
Prepare field reports, recommendations and customer updates
Support product trials and new product development
Travel to drill sites throughout Western Australia and, as your experience develops, potentially interstate and overseas
The role will initially involve significant training and supervised fieldwork. Responsibility and independence will increase as your technical knowledge and confidence develop.
About You
You do not need previous drilling or mining experience to apply.

Is at the beginning of their professional career or looking to establish themselves in a current industry
Is confident speaking with people from different backgrounds and levels of experience
Can build genuine rapport with drill crews and site personnel
Is approachable, practical and comfortable working in field environments
Is willing to listen, learn and follow established technical procedures
Is coachable and open to feedback
Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in representing the company professionally
Can communicate clearly in person, by telephone and in writing
Is comfortable using computers, mobile applications and basic reporting systems
Holds a current Australian driver's licence
Is willing and able to travel and spend time away from home when required
Previous experience in
sales, customer service, business development, mining, drilling, warehousing, trades or other practical industries
would be highly regarded but is not essential.
A science or engineering qualification may be beneficial, but it is not required. Practical ability, attitude and communication skills will be more important than formal qualifications.
