About the role:
Our valued client specialises in ship repair, maintenance, and marine engineering solutions, providing services across the commercial, fishing and defence marine sectors. We require a highly skilled Fabrication Supervisor to work in the Fremantle area and lead a team of fabricators and welders.
You will supervise and coordinate all fabrication activities, ensuring a safe, effective and high-quality completion of marine repair and maintenance projects in accordance with our client's standards.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead fabrication personnel to deliver quality workmanship safely, on time, and
within budget.
Plan, allocate, and monitor daily work tasks for welders, fabricators, and apprentices.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards across workshop and
site operations.Interpret and review technical drawings, specifications, and work scopes.
Coordinate with engineering, project, and quality teams to resolve technical and production
issues.
Manage materials, consumables,
and equipment requirements for ongoing and upcoming jobs.
Conduct inspections to verify fabricated components meet specifications and tolerances.
Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members.
Maintain accurate records of progress, time, and material usage.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a positive, safety-first culture.

Requirements:
Trade Cert in Metal Fabrication, Welding or Boilermaking - Cert 3 or higher
Experience in supervisory or leading hand in marine, heavy fabrication, or ship repair environments
Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding procedures & quality assurance standards.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specs
Exceptional leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to pass a LAB D&A;
