Job description – Junior Contract Administrator / Quantity Surveyor.
FORM 700 is one of Australia's leading Construction companies here in South Australia and is currently looking for a new team member (Junior Contract Administrator / Quantity surveyor) to join it's Adelaide based team. We are currently involved in several high-profile projects and have several more high-profile projects in the works which will add to the ever-expanding Adelaide skyline.
Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to coordinate projects from concept through to installation whilst dealing with builder, consultants and trades. Communicating with the client/Builder and carrying out administrative procedures and correspondence necessary for the efficient management of the project. The applicant should possess the following skills and experience:
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Excellent skills using MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Strong organisational and communication skills.
· Knowledge of Blue Beam or similar measuring software
· Strong ability to complete take offs and measurement of quantities for variations submissions to the builder.
· Understanding of the building/construction industry as well as the ability to read technical drawings would be an advantage.
About the role:
This role has a strong administration focus, with the role based on and off site receiving firsthand, real time productive on the job education identifying, understanding, and applying your knowledge gain throughout your degree and in the field. Reporting directly to the Construction manager as required.
· Preparing contract progress claims & reports.
· Preparation and submission of variation & contractual notices.
· Preparing take off and measures for drawings changes.
· Liaising and effectively communicating with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
· Negotiation of subcontract packages & subcontract administration.
· Ability to interrogate contractual claims and variations.
· Site visits and evaluations where required.
· Report directly to the Project Management team.
· Any other task or reasonable request from time to time.
