Farax are currently supporting a valued client who are seeking experienced Trade Assistants and Warehouse Operators to join their team on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to transition from casual to permanent employment for the right candidates. Join a Perth-owned manufacturer with a growing international footprint, operating from a brand-new, state of the art facility in Welshpool.
The Roles
Trade Assistant
Working as part of the manufacturing team, you will provide hands-on support across the production and assembly process. This is a practical role suited to someone who is mechanically minded, enjoys working with tools and takes pride in producing quality work.
Duties will include:
Assisting tradespeople and production staff with day-to-day manufacturing activities
Cutting, drilling, grinding and preparing materials as required
Assisting with assembly and installation of components
Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
Measuring, checking and preparing materials to specification
Loading, unloading and moving materials around the workshop
Assisting with general workshop and production tasks
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment
Following production procedures, quality standards and safety requirements
Supporting the wider team to meet production deadlines
Warehouse Operator
Working within the warehouse and manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage and preparation of materials and finished goods.
Duties will include:
Operating LO and LF forklifts to safely move materials and products
Loading and unloading deliveries
Moving and positioning stock throughout the warehouse and production areas
Picking, preparing and staging materials for production
Loading finished products for dispatch
Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods
Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records
Assisting with general warehouse duties as required
Ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently
Maintaining a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment
Adhering to all workplace health and safety procedures
Requirements
Minimum 3 years' manufacturing experience
High Risk Work Licence – LO/LF Ticket
Full Australian working rights – Permanent Resident or Australian/NZ Citizen
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, parameters and quality control
Mechanically minded with the ability to problem-solve on the floor
Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 25kg
Basic computer skills for machine interfaces and production systems
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality output
Reliable, team-focused and safety driven
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong commitment to workplace safety and following procedures
