Role Description The Clinical Exercise Physiologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Hobart, TAS, responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering individualized exercise programs for clients with a range of health conditions.
Day-to-day tasks include conducting initial and follow-up assessments, interpreting clinical information, developing treatment plans, and supervising exercise sessions in one-on-one and group formats.
The role involves monitoring client progress, adjusting programs based on outcomes and clinical changes, and documenting all interventions in line with professional and regulatory requirements.
The Clinical Exercise Physiologist will work closely with other clinicians, communicate with referring practitioners, and contribute to health education initiatives,
while supporting a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all clients.
Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science, with accreditation (or eligibility for accreditation) as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist through a recognized professional body.
Demonstrated experience in clinical assessment, exercise prescription, and management of chronic and complex conditions, including cardiometabolic, musculoskeletal, and neurological presentations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, educate clients, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Solid clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and time-management abilities, including accurate documentation, case management, and prioritization of workload.
Commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards in clinical care.
Proficiency with basic digital health tools and practice management systems, and confidence using technology for scheduling, record-keeping, and reporting.
Current first aid and CPR certification, and any required registrations or clearances to practice in Tasmania.
Experience in private practice, community health, or hospital settings is advantageous, as is familiarity with compensable schemes (e.g., insurance, workers' compensation) and chronic disease management plans.
