A leading fintech organisation based in Sydney CBD is currently seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist for a newly created position.
The Security Specialist is a critical operational role within the company and is responsible for the day-to-day protection of the organisation's systems, data, and clients.
The role combines reactive security operations (alert monitoring, incident triage, and response) with proactive security activities (threat hunting, vulnerability triage, and code security review) Responsibilities: Monitor and triage security alerts across all platforms: Firewalls, WAF, IPS/IDS, VPN, SIEM, Cloud Infrastructure, Endpoint Protection, and Identity Management systems.
Review firewall, VPN, and WAF logs and reports, providing analysis and commentary on anomalies and trends.
Actively review identity and access management logs for suspicious or anomalous activity, including authentication anomalies, privilege escalation, and impossible travel events.
Conduct proactive threat hunting across the workplace to identify indicators of compromise or policy violations.




Review and respond to the active threat environment, including monitoring threat intelligence sources Triage vulnerabilities from scanning tools and assist with risk assessment and prioritisation of remediation efforts Support the execution of the companies broader security strategy as directed by the CISO.
