The Position We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated nurse to Join our Oncology Nurse Development Program.
This Program has been developed to support nurses transitioning into the specialty of cancer care through comprehensive education, clinical supervision and hands on experience in a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
The participant will receive: A structured orientation to oncology nursing Supernumerary clinical support during the transition period.
Dedicated education aligned with oncology practice Mentoring from experienced oncology nurses.
Opportunities to develop competency in: - Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy administration - Management of treatment related toxicities - Central Venous access device management - Oncology emergencies - Patient education and supportive care - Safe handling of cytotoxic medications Working in this specialized area the applicant will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of clinical standards and will be directly responsible for: Integrating your technical skills, scientific knowledge and caring attitude to aid those living with cancer, including their families, starting from point of diagnosis, treatment, survivor-ship and through to end of life care Applying your clinical expertise and knowledge of chemotherapy and targeted therapy administration and central venous line management, including medical same day infusions Identifying when a more detailed assessment and/or intervention is required and seek the input of clinical peers, the General Practitioner and other relevant health professionals Compliance with, and application of,



current policies and procedures as well as an understanding of their implications for nursing practice and patient outcomes Building relationships with patients and their families while going above and beyond to provide exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes The Person Strong emphasis will be placed on the applicant's ability to demonstrate the organisations values of Courage, Diligence, Compassion, Wisdom and Friendliness, as well as their ability to commit to and apply these values in the workplace.
Eager to develop and learn specialist oncology knowledge.
Key Selection Criteria Evidence of tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, share information and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team, including the ability to build trust High level computer literacy and working knowledge of; RosterOn, TrendCare, Riskman Microsoft Office and eMAR records.
