Forefront Recruitment

Melbourne

You can usually tell what a builder thinks of its site team by what happens after a Saturday.
Here, you get some of that time back.
For every Saturday worked, you'll receive a half-day RDO.
It's a small detail, but it probably tells you more about the company than a page of culture statements.
You'll take over a $15m architectural apartment project in South Yarra.
It has topped out and is due for completion in early ****, so your focus will be on services, finishes and handover.
There is an experienced PM and CA alongside you.
You'll have support when you need it, but nobody will be standing over your shoulder telling you how to run a site.
The company has reached an interesting stage.
They have secured work ahead, made some very good hires and built the foundations for their next period of growth.
The aim isn't to become bigger for the sake of it.
They want to grow properly while holding onto the environment they've created.
There is a genuinely valuable feel around the business.
People get along, nobody takes themselves too seriously and there is a good sense of humour across the office and sites.
The team also makes time for sporting events, lunches and regular social catch-ups.
A lot of that comes from the director.
He isn't the stereotypical construction director.
He is approachable, understands the pressure people are under and has strong business ethics.
He treats people fairly,

listens and knows how to get the best out of them without making work unnecessarily difficult.
We've recruited for this builder for the past eight years, so these aren't claims we've taken from a company values page.
We've seen the environment firsthand, introduced several people to the business and watched them settle in and become part of the team.
The business delivers architectural multi-residential and commercial projects across Melbourne, generally valued up to $20m, with future work already secured.
You'll need experience leading multi-residential or commercial projects for a head contractor.
Apartment finishes experience would be an advantage, but a stable work history, sound judgement and the ability to lead people properly will matter just as much.
They don't need another big personality on site.
They need someone dependable who can take ownership, communicate clearly and finish the project well.
A good sense of humour won't hurt either.
The salary package is $180k - $200k, depending on experience.
