About the Role:
At
Guidera O'Connor
, our Mechanical Engineers play a key role in delivering some of Western Australia's most significant water and wastewater infrastructure projects — from complex treatment plants and pumping systems through to major upgrades and new infrastructure.
We are looking for
Mechanical Engineers and Project Engineers
who want more than a desk-based engineering role.
You'll have the chance to take engineering solutions from
design and procurement through
construction, commissioning and handover, developing a genuine understanding of how complex infrastructure is designed, built and brought into operation.
Working across metropolitan Perth and regional WA, you'll join an experienced project delivery team with opportunities to take real ownership of mechanical packages, solve technical challenges on site and develop your career through increasingly complex projects and responsibilities.
As a
Project Engineer – Mechanical
, you'll work closely with the Project Manager, construction teams, designers, suppliers and subcontractors to safely deliver projects in accordance with contractual, technical, programme and quality requirements.
More specifically, you will:
Manage mechanical engineering packages from design through to installation, commissioning and handover
Review designs, drawings, specifications and technical documentation to ensure constructability and compliance
Coordinate the procurement of mechanical equipment, materials and specialist packages
Work directly with suppliers, subcontractors and construction teams to resolve technical and site issues
Support the planning and delivery of mechanical installation works, including pumps, pipework,
valves, treatment equipment and associated systems
Provide engineering support during construction, testing and commissioning
Assist with project programming, cost control, forecasting and commercial management
Manage QA documentation, inspections, ITPs, technical queries and project close-out requirements
Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
Contribute to the safe, environmentally responsible and successful delivery of projects

You Will Bring:
Experience in project delivery, construction or a related engineering environment A degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Strong mechanical engineering knowledge with a practical, solutions-focused approach
The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to project deadlines
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractor, suppliers and project teams.
Water and wastewater experience is advantageous, but not essential
