Parts Team Leader – Automotive.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Parts Team Leader
to join our busy automotive parts operation in Launceston.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced
Parts Interpreter or Parts Salesperson
who is ready to take the next step in their career and provide day-to-day leadership and support to a busy parts team.
Working closely with the Parts Manager and dealership leadership team, you will help coordinate the daily activities of the parts department, support your colleagues and ensure our workshop, trade and retail customers receive prompt, accurate and professional service.
About the Role
As Parts Team Leader, you will remain hands-on in the parts operation while taking on additional responsibility for supporting the team and coordinating day-to-day activities.
You will be a key point of contact for the team, helping ensure work is prioritised, customer enquiries are managed effectively and parts are identified, sourced and supplied accurately and efficiently.
This role is ideally suited to someone who has strong automotive parts knowledge, enjoys working as part of a team and is ready to develop their leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Support and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Parts team.
Lead by example and promote a positive, customer-focused team environment.
Assist team members with parts identification, sourcing and customer enquiries.
Support the team in managing competing priorities during busy periods.
Assist with escalated customer enquiries and ensure issues are resolved professionally.
Maintain strong relationships with workshop technicians,
service staff, trade customers and suppliers.
Assist with ordering, receipting, stock control and the accurate supply of parts.
Help ensure customer and workshop parts requirements are met in a timely manner.
Support the team to achieve department sales and service targets.
Assist with training and mentoring less experienced team members.
Promote safe work practices and ensure company procedures are followed.
Identify opportunities to improve day-to-day processes and team efficiency.
About You
We are looking for someone who is ready to step into a leadership role while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day parts operation.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience as a
Parts Interpreter, Parts Salesperson or similar automotive parts role
.
Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
Dealership experience will be highly regarded.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
The confidence to provide guidance and support to other team members.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
The ability to remain organised and calm in a busy environment.
Good computer literacy and experience with Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a high-performing team.
A genuine interest in developing your leadership skills and taking the next step in your career.
