The City of Mount Gambier is seeking a Coordinator Capital Projects to help plan, coordinate and deliver Council's capital works program across infrastructure, buildings, facilities, sport precincts, roads, drainage, footpaths and other key community assets.If you can keep projects moving, contractors aligned, budgets under control and stakeholders informed, this is a chance to do meaningful work in a regional city with momentum.

The roleThis is a hands-on coordination role supporting the successful delivery of Council's capital works program from start to finish.You will help drive projects through planning, design, procurement, construction, delivery, commissioning and handover, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time,
within budget and to the required standard.You will lead work across:coordinating and delivering capital projects across infrastructure and building assetsmanaging project plans, timelines, budgets, risks and reportingsupporting tendering, procurement, contract preparation and evaluation processesadministering contracts, including variations, claims and contractor performanceworking with consultants, contractors, technical teams and internal stakeholderssupporting construction management, quality assurance and site safetypreparing clear project updates, reports and documentationmanaging defects, commissioning and asset handover processessupporting community engagement and responding to enquiries professionallycontributing to better systems, processes and continuous improvement in project delivery

About youYou will bring:strong experience in project, contract and procurement managementexperience delivering capital projects, ideally across infrastructure, construction,
buildings or community assetssound contract administration capability, including contractor and consultant managementstrong planning, organisation and problem-solving skillsfinancial management capability, including budgeting, cost control and reportingconfident communication and presentation skillsthe ability to work with technical teams, contractors, community members and internal stakeholdersa solid focus on safety, quality, customer service and deliverya current Class C driver's licence
You will also need a satisfactory pre-employment medical, National Police Certificate and Working with Children Check.
It would be an advantage if you also have:tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related fieldproject management qualifications or equivalent experienceexperience in local government or another regulated environmentexperience using asset management systems or GIS platforms
Who this role will suitYou might be an experienced project manager, construction coordinator, contract administrator, engineering project lead or capital works professional ready for a role with variety, visibility and community impact.You do not need to be the loudest person in the room.
You do need to be organised, commercially aware, calm under pressure and able to keep people, paperwork, safety and delivery moving in the same direction.
