The OpportunityThis is more than a traditional General Manager role.
It is an opportunity to take ownership of an APAC business, shape its future strategy and build the capability required to support its next phase of international growth.Our client is a highly respected international engineering organisation delivering high-integrity engineered solutions into mission-critical applications across the defence and marine sectors.As General Manager – APAC, you will take responsibility for operations across Australia and Taiwan, combining full P&L; ownership with strategic growth, operational leadership and the development of regional manufacturing capability.You'll have the autonomy to develop the business, strengthen regional partnerships and supply chains, and build the sovereign capability required to support major programmes across the region.For an accomplished engineering or manufacturing leader, this is a rare opportunity to make a genuine impact on the direction and growth of an international business.
The RoleReporting directly to the President of the Marine Division, you will have overall responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of the APAC business.You'll provide strategic leadership across multiple locations while ensuring operational excellence, financial performance and sustainable business growth.Key responsibilities include:Full P&L; responsibility for the APAC region.
Leading operations across Australia and Taiwan.




Developing and executing the regional growth strategy.
Building sovereign manufacturing capability.
Delivering multi-year localisation programmes.
Developing regional supply chains and strategic partnerships.
Supporting major defence and marine programmes.
Driving operational excellence across manufacturing, engineering and service functions.
Ensuring compliance with quality, export control and regulatory standards.
Building, developing and leading high-performing regional teams.
About YouWe're looking for an accomplished senior leader who combines commercial acumen with strong operational leadership.You will have experience leading complex engineering or manufacturing operations while delivering commercial growth across multiple sites, businesses or international regions.
You'll likely bring experience in:General Management, Managing Director or senior regional leadership.
Full P&L; ownership.
Engineering or manufacturing operations.
Strategic business growth and commercial development.
Operational transformation.
International or multi-site leadership.
Supply chain development and localisation.
Executive-level customer and stakeholder engagement.
Building and developing high-performing teams.
Defence, marine, aerospace or another highly regulated industry.
Experience working with defence programmes, sovereign capability initiatives or complex localisation strategies would be highly advantageous.
