Volunteer Youth Mentor
Who we're looking for
Anchor is looking for a dedicated volunteer to take on a live-in mentoring role.
If you are passionate about supporting and making a difference in the lives of young people, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Volunteer Role
You will provide guidance and mentorship to up to six young people, fostering their personal growth, wellbeing and independence.
This volunteer role includes providing support to young people during after-hours periods when on-site staff are unavailable.As a trusted and positive role model, you will build supportive relationships and contribute to a safe and stable environment.
Ideally, you will:
Have an understanding or willingness to learn about adolescent development.
Demonstrate strong independent living skills and is able to effectively model and promote these to young people.
An understanding of the challenges and issues affecting young people.
The ability to build positive, trusting relationships and communicate effectively with young people.
A genuine passion for supporting, encouraging and empowering young people to achieve their goals.
Program Overview
Located in Pakenham, our program is an out-of-home care placement option providing medium-term accommodation and support to young people who have been placed away from the care of their families by Child Protection.
What's in it for you?
As a Volunteer Youth Mentor, you will be provided with rent-free, self-contained accommodation at our Pakenham site and receive a weekly honorarium payments to assist with your living expenses while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Our services help people affected by crisis and trauma to restore relationships, provided the support needed, and take charge of their futures.
