We're looking for an Engineer – Facilities to join our Gas Asset & Operations team and help shape the safety, reliability, integrity and long-term performance of critical gas infrastructure.

What you'll do
Reporting to the Asset Class Manager – Facilities, you'll work across asset management, engineering, projects and operations, providing thoughtful and practical technical advice throughout the asset lifecycle.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Develop clear, commercially sound engineering assessments and Opportunity Briefs that turn complex problems into actionable solutions.
Contribute to Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and capital projects.
Support asset performance and integrity reviews, helping identify emerging risks and opportunities before they become bigger challenges.




Contribute to the ongoing improvement and certification of Jemena's Asset Management System.
Review asset strategies and recommend improvements in line with relevant Australian and international standards.
Provide engineering input into programs of work, capital plans, scopes of work, options analysis and business cases.
Support the successful delivery, commissioning and transition of major capital projects into business-as-usual operations.
Analyse asset performance and risk and help develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
Provide trusted engineering advice on equipment operation, capacity, capability and integrity.
Work alongside field and operational teams, providing technical support, inspections and witnessing of equipment, testing and construction activities.
Contribute to Safety Management Systems and risk identification, assessment and management.
Build strong relationships across engineering, operations, projects and external partners.
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who combines technical confidence with curiosity, empathy and a collaborative mindset.
You'll ideally have:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, ideally Chemical, Mechanical or a related discipline.
CPEng, RPEQ or equivalent professional registration, must have Chartered status or equivalent.




Experience working in a safety-critical industry, ideally within energy, utilities or a similar setting.
Experience across engineering, technical standards, regulatory compliance and risk management.
Knowledge of the Australian energy utilities, services or contractor environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to approach challenges thoughtfully and logically.
The confidence to communicate complex technical and risk matters in a clear, accessible way.
A genuine interest in continuous improvement and finding smarter, more effective ways of working.
A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships with people across different disciplines and levels of the organisation.
