About Us
First Nations Advocates Against Family Violence (FNAAFV) was established in May **** and is the national Peak Body for community-controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Violence Prevention and Legal Services (FVPLS) organisations across Australia.
FVPLS organisations provide legal and other holistic, culturally safe non-legal services to First Nations people affected by family violence – predominantly First Nations women and their children.
FNAAFV's mission is to support our FVPLS members and, as a foundational member of the Coalition of Peaks, be a leader in efforts to reduce family violence affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, their children, families and communities.
This is a fully Remote / Work-from-Home position.

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated
Manager, Policy, Sector Development
to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will support the CEO and provide management to ensure member and sector intelligence informs policy, advocacy, grants and project delivery, and that work is coordinated across the service delivery team.
You will work closely with the internal team and external stakeholders to ensure organisational priorities and coordinated workplans deliver for our members.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day management, supervision, performance support and professional development for direct reports.
Contribute to team meetings and work collaboratively.
Establish and communicate priorities, monitor workload and wellbeing, resolve competing demands and escalate material capacity issues to the CEO.
Oversee the quality, timeliness and organisational alignment of policy advice, submissions, briefs, grant activities, funding deliverables and related reporting.
Support staff to ensure member priorities are appropriately reflected.
Maintain a single portfolio workplan covering policy, grants,
sector development, member engagement and projects.
Clarify ownership, dependencies, approvals and deadlines, and establish regular cross-functional planning so work is connected and visible
Manage and support staff to deliver the approved MPSD portfolio.
Ensure member engagement, workforce development, sector priorities and other approved responsibilities are appropriately prioritised, resourced and connected to policy and project work.
Lead or support government, funding and strategic stakeholder relationships as delegated by the CEO.
Coordinate external representation and follow-up across the portfolio and avoid duplicated or inconsistent engagement.
Provide concise reporting to the CEO on delivery, risk, workload, funding commitments, emerging issues and decisions required.
Maintain appropriate quality assurance, risk, contract, stakeholder, project and decision records.
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated cultural capability and a strong commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control, self-determination, cultural safety and trauma-informed practice.
Substantial management experience.
Experience with government grant agreements, acquittals, national policy reform processes and executive reporting.
Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary and senior specialist staff, set priorities, and support performance and wellbeing.
Strong policy, strategic analysis, project governance, risk management and quality assurance capability, including the judgement to approve, seek advice or escalate.
High-level stakeholder engagement experience with government, funders, community-controlled organisations, members, peak bodies and strategic partners.
Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
