Role Status: Multiple full-time ongoing vacancies available Remuneration: AHP1 ($73,710 - $89,981) / PO1 ($73,533 - $89,764) plus 12% superannuation Role Details: Multiple opportunities are available as a Social Worker (Allied Health Professional) or Case Manager (Professional Officer) working across Coober Pedy and the APY Lands following a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) roster of 8 days on, 6 days off.
You will safeguard children and young people through culturally inclusive case management that assesses their emotional and physical needs.
Strengthening the stability, security and development of a child will guide your daily practices to ensure ethical and moral standards are upheld.

Multiple vacancies will be offered under a dual classification .
The successful applicants will be appointed at the appropriate classification level based on their qualifications, experience and suitability for the role.

Essential Qualifications: AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions require applicants to hold a Social Work qualification and be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) PO (Professional Officer) positions require relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or other related fields.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
In this role, you will:



Provide dedicated case management that analyses notifications of child abuse and outcomes of investigations Oversee the protection of children and young people through sound case management and inclusive practice Conduct regular visits to promote positive outcomes for clientele Implement DCP's Practice Approach to incorporate evidence-based research to reflect robust case management Generate written and verbal reports that are informative and centred on reliable evidence.
About you: You demonstrate an acute cultural awareness and ability to understand the complex needs of a child You can effectively respond to safety and wellbeing risks of children and young people You have exemplary written and verbal communication skills to produce accurate and concise reports You are a phenomenal team collaborator who can achieve goals collectively and independently You can work under professional direction to manage complex issues and workloads.
Salary: AHP1: $73,710 – $89,981 p.a. + 12% super + 4% Child Protection Allowance + Professional Development Allowance + Regional financial incentive + Qualification Allowance may apply if you hold an additional qualification relevant to the role.
PO1: $73,533 – $89,764 p.a. + 12% super + Additional Child Protection Allowance.
