This is an opportunity to join an 500+ national engineering, environmental, planning and advisory consultancy during a significant period of growth.
You'll work alongside one of Australia's larger specialist environmental teams, delivering complex planning and approvals across Transport, Water, Utilities, Energy, Renewables, Data Centres and major Government infrastructure .
Importantly, this is not a start-up planning function and you won't be expected to create a capability from scratch.
There is an established team, existing project pipeline, strong national technical capability and a substantial multidisciplinary business behind you.

What You'll Be Doing You'll take a senior role across environmental planning and approvals for complex NSW infrastructure projects.
This will include: Leading planning and environmental approvals across major infrastructure projects.
Providing senior advice across Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Reviews of Environmental Factors (REF), State Significant Development (SSD), State Significant Infrastructure (SSI), Development Applications and strategic planning matters .
Advising clients on approval pathways, planning strategy, regulatory requirements and project risk.
Identifying approval constraints and stakeholder sensitivities early and developing practical strategies to address them.
Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs on complex projects.
Managing senior client relationships across infrastructure owners, utilities, government agencies, developers and delivery partners.
Contributing to proposals, tenders and major project pursuits.
Identifying opportunities to strengthen and expand existing client relationships.
Mentoring planners and supporting the continued development of the NSW planning capability.
About You The title matters less than the experience behind it.
You'll ideally bring:



Strong NSW infrastructure planning and environmental approvals experience.
Current technical credibility across EIS, REF, SSD, SSI and major project approvals .
Strong knowledge of NSW planning legislation, approvals pathways and environmental assessment requirements .
Experience across sectors such as Transport, Water, Utilities, Energy, Renewables or other major infrastructure .
Experience developing planning and approvals strategies for complex projects.
A robust consulting background and understanding of commercial project delivery.
Confidence working directly with senior clients, government agencies and other key stakeholders.
Experience contributing to bids, proposals and new project opportunities.
Evidence of developing and expanding client relationships.
Experience mentoring and developing other planners.
The judgement to balance technical delivery, client needs and commercial outcomes.
Leadership skills - whether established or still in growth, our client will invest in your trajectory.
You do not need to arrive with an entire book of business.
There is existing work, established capability and a strong national platform already in place.
