Group Financial Controller Job Summary Step into a true number two finance leadership role where you'll lift reporting, controls, and systems to support a growing multi-entity business.
Reporting to the CFO, you'll own the end-to-end financial integrity of the group, delivering timely insights for decision-making and helping build scalable processes as the business evolves.
This suits an experienced Financial Controller who enjoys balancing hands-on delivery with continuous improvement.
Benefits Direct access to the CFO with real influence on group-wide reporting, controls, and finance strategy Make the finance function scalable through process improvement, standardisation, and system governance as the business grows High visibility outputs including board packs, financial analysis, and input into investor communications Exposure to growth activity including due diligence, acquisitions, and integration support (where required) Own the numbers end-to-end across month-end, compliance, audit, tax, cashflow, and governance Reality check: month-end reporting is expected within 10 days , so you'll need to be comfortable working to firm timelines Key Responsibilities Lead accurate, timely month-end close, management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting across the group Strengthen internal controls, governance, and risk management to protect assets and ensure reporting integrity Ensure compliance across ASIC, ATO, statutory reporting, audit, tax, and Australian Accounting Standards Build and maintain financial models,
performance metrics, and forecasting tools that drive decision-making Own finance process improvement including scalable frameworks across AP, AR, fixed assets, payroll, journals, and source system inputs Maintain strong system discipline and data governance, including effective utilisation of Xero and associated reporting tools Partner with the CFO on board packs, stakeholder reporting, and growth initiatives including integrations and banking relationships Lead, mentor, and develop accounts/admin staff to lift capability and accountability Requirements Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader, ideally in a multi-entity (and/or international) workplace Strong technical capability across financial reporting, controls, compliance, audit, and tax Demonstrated success improving reporting accuracy, financial controls, and system/process capability Hands-on experience with cash flow management, treasury, and banking relationships Experience supporting due diligence, acquisitions, and/or integration activities Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/CA (or equivalent) qualified is essential High proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and reporting tools, including Xero Consultant David Ayre Head of Financial Services ************ ****** Reference number: BH-***** Profession:Accounting FinanceFinancial Management Accounting Company: Fuse Recruitment Date posted: 11th Aug, ****
