Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT).
The CSI-IPT is a collaborative enterprise organisation that executes scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA**** Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA**** Phase 1).
The role
As part of our Engineering & Sustainment Services group, the Technician will thrive under pressure and excel in complex integration environments.
You will be a vital part of our Test and Commissioning Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely solutions that impact the performance of critical naval platforms.
This role offers unique opportunities for professional growth and requires individuals ready for challenging work both interstate and offshore.
Qualified Technician: Certificate III or relevant experience in an Engineering, Electronics, Networking or related fields.
Licensing: Hold, or be eligible to apply/receive, relevant State licenses (e.g. Restricted Electrical Licensed).
Domain Knowledge: Relevant understanding, knowledge, and experience specific to engineering systems, assemblies, platforms, and services, with preference in one or more of the following capabilities:
Underwater Sensors and Systems
Communications Systems
Above Water Sensors Systems
Combat Management Systems
Naval Weapons Systems
Navigation Systems
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Confidently adjust to changing priorities, identify
underlying issues, and actively contribute to system improvement initiatives.
Operational Readiness: Available for deployment (interstate and offshore) to perform critical installation and maintenance tasks.
Security: Eligible to hold or obtain a NV1 Security Clearance
Autonomy & Efficiency: Capable of managing competing priorities under minimal supervision while consistently exceeding job requirements and meeting strict deadlines.




Communication & Collaboration: Function confidently within a team, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and foster a spirit of co-operation.
Technical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills, excellent written/verbal communication, and intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Applicants must be Australian citizens
and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
