About NACCHO
The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs).
ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally.
About the Role
The Director, Maternal and Child Health leads NACCHO's national policy, program and advocacy efforts to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mothers, children and families.
Through strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement and evidence-based policy development, you will influence national health reform, support the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector and drive initiatives that deliver meaningful and lasting impact for Communities.
Leading a small team, you will work across government, the sector and NACCHO to ensure community priorities are reflected in programs, policies and advocacy at a national level.
Responsibilities of this role but not limited to:
Lead and manage the Maternal and Child Health team, providing leadership, coaching and career development.
Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of national policies, programs and strategic initiatives that improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, mothers and families.
Provide high-level strategic policy advice, submissions, position papers and advocacy on issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with ACCHOs,



Affiliates, government agencies and sector partners to identify priorities and support system reform.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in health or a related field is highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience in policy development, program management, advocacy or strategic leadership within health, social policy or a related field.
Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with government, community-controlled organisations and key stakeholders to influence policy and system reform.
