Bringing together participants from across Australia, the event aims to facilitate meaningful discussion and gather insights on improving digital access and outcomes for First Nations peoples.Your recent roleAs a facilitator, you will lead one of three small-group discussions during the afternoon breakout sessions.
Working alongside a dedicated note taker, you will guide conversations in a respectful and culturally appropriate way while helping participants feel comfortable sharing their perspectives.Your responsibilities will include:Facilitating discussion groups in a culturally respectful and inclusive mannerEncouraging participation and ensuring all attendees have an opportunity to contributeUsing active listening skills to identify key themes and discussion pointsCreating a safe and welcoming environment for participants from diverse backgroundsWorking collaboratively with a note taker to capture key outcomesPresenting a summary of your group's key takeaways to the broader forumAttending a pre-event briefing before the session commencesWhat you'll need to succeedWe're looking for people who can naturally engage groups, encourage discussion, and build rapport quickly.You will bring:Previous experience in facilitation, team leadership, people management, HR, community engagement, training, stakeholder engagement or similar rolesStrong communication and active listening skillsThe ability to facilitate productive conversations without dominating discussionsDemonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with First Nations peoplesA respectful, collaborative and professional approachConfidence engaging with diverse groups and perspectivesWhat you'll get in returnA paid opportunity to contribute to an important national discussionThe chance to support meaningful engagement with First Nations communitiesA short-term commitment of just a few hours on the day, plus a brief pre-event briefingExperience working alongside experienced event professionals and stakeholders
