Due to continued growth, an opportunity now exists for an experienced Civil Estimator to join the team and take ownership of the estimating and pre-construction function.Your recent role Reporting to senior management, you will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities, preparing estimates and managing projects from initial concept through to delivery.
This is far more than a traditional estimating position.
You will be responsible for managing the entire process, from reviewing plans and developing budgets through to presenting proposals and monitoring project performance against budgets and timelines.Key responsibilities include:Preparing accurate estimates and cost plans for subdivision and civil infrastructure projectsReviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentationPricing and presenting project proposals to clients and stakeholdersCoordinating with surveyors, engineers,
local councils and other authoritiesManaging multiple opportunities from enquiry through to project awardMonitoring project budgets and programmes throughout deliveryBuilding strong relationships with clients, consultants and industry stakeholdersAssisting with business development activities and identifying new work opportunitiesImproving and maintaining estimating systems, processes and reporting toolsWhat you'll need to succeedPrevious experience estimating civil construction, subdivisions or land development projectsStrong understanding of subdivision works and associated approval requirementsExcellent commercial acumen and attention to detailStrong Microsoft Excel and computer literacy skillsThe ability to develop, implement and follow business systems and processesOutstanding communication and stakeholder management skillsA proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to work autonomouslyThe confidence to manage projects and opportunities from inception through to completionWhat you'll get in returnA highly negotiable salary package based on experience and capabilityFlexibility for candidates based in Hobart or LauncestonExposure to diverse projects across Tasmania and interstateGenuine autonomy and ownership of the estimating functionLong-term career growth opportunities within a stable and expanding organisationA supportive and collaborative team environment
