We are seeking a Security Advisor to join a high-performing Protective Security team in Canberra, providing day-to-day security support across a range of protective security disciplines.This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate holding a current Positive Vetting (PV) clearance to further develop their career within the Defence Industry.Your recent role Reporting to the Senior Security Advisor, you will provide operational security support and subject matter expertise across a range of protective security functions.Your responsibilities will include:Providing advice across security governance, personnel, physical, communications and information security disciplinesSupporting Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) obligations and Security Officer functionsAssisting with the maintenance of external security accreditations, licences and compliance requirementsPreparing incident reports and liaising with relevant external agenciesReviewing and updating security policies,
procedures and governance documentationManaging security administration activities and security-related recordsSupporting the management of security systems, access controls, CCTV, alarms, key management and secure storage arrangementsBuilding effective relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and government agenciesWhat you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will possess:A current AGSVA Positive Vetting (PV) security clearanceExperience working within a Defence or Defence Industry environmentKnowledge and experience across one or more protective security disciplinesUnderstanding of PSPF, DISP, AGSVA clearance processes and security risk management principlesStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare high-quality reports and documentationExperience managing security systems, visitor management, access control or related security operationsRelevant security qualifications such as Certificate III/IV in Security Operations, Defence Security Officer training or equivalent.Willingness to work from the office five days per weekWhat you'll get in returnPermanent opportunity with a leading Defence Industry organisationExposure to complex and high-profile national security projectsSupportive and collaborative security team environmentOngoing professional development and career progression opportunitiesCanberra-based position requiring a current PV clearance.
