About the role
At Respectability we believe great support starts with the right match.
We're looking for a warm, genuine and reliable Disability Support Worker to join our team in Taree, with opportunities available for casual and/or permanent part-time employment.
For us, this role is about much more than qualifications and experience, personality matters.
We take the time to carefully match our team members with the people we support, because we believe every individual should feel comfortable, safe and genuinely happy with the person coming into their home and supporting them.
We're looking for someone who can build genuine connections, hold a conversation, respect individual preferences and understand when to step forward and when to step back.
Our supports are varied and may include personal care, assistance at home, accessing the community, attending appointments and supporting people to work towards their individual goals.
Availability from 7:00am is required for some supports, so we're particularly interested in people who can offer some early morning availability.
Key responsibilities
Provide personalised support to individuals with disabilities in their daily living activities, including personal care, household tasks and community participation
Assist clients with mobility, transportation and access to community services and recreational activities
Support clients to develop life skills and build confidence in managing their independence
Maintain detailed and accurate records of support provided and any changes in client needs or wellbeing
Communicate effectively with clients, their families, team members and other professionals to ensure coordinated and consistent care
Take part in team meetings, training and ongoing learning to continue building your skills and providing quality support.
Follow relevant legislation, NDIS requirements, workplace policies and procedures and health and safety practices to provide safe, respectful and high quality support.
What we're looking for

A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities and a commitment to person-centred care principles
Most importantly, a genuine, respectful and caring approach to supporting people with disability.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse individuals
Patience, empathy and a non judgmental approach, combined with a positive and encouraging attitude
Physical capability to assist with personal care and mobility support, where required
Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
A strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality, with the ability to handle personal and sensitive information appropriately.
What you'll need
NDIS Worker Screening Check – current or willing to obtain.
National Police Check – current or willing to obtain.
Working With Children Check – current or willing to obtain where required.
First Aid and CPR certification – current or willing to obtain.
Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or a relevant qualification – completed or currently working towards.
For the right person, we're open to supporting and facilitating the completion of a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).
We value the right attitude, personality and genuine approach to supporting people and we're happy to invest in someone who is the right fit for our team and the people we support.
Current Australian Driver Licence
What we offer
At Respectability, we recognise that our team are our greatest asset.
We offer a supportive and inclusive workplace where your wellbeing matters.
Our benefits include:

Competitive hourly rates commensurate with experience and qualifications
Flexible part-time/casual hours that can accommodate your personal commitments
Comprehensive induction and ongoing training and career development opportunities
A collaborative team environment where your ideas and contributions are valued
Access to employee assistance program
Recognition and rewards for excellent performance and dedication to our clients
A role where you can genuinely make a positive impact on people's lives every day
About us
Respectability was built from a simple belief, people should always come first, never feel like a number.
We saw a gap in the way disability supports were being delivered and wanted to create something more personal.
An organisation where the people we support feel genuinely valued, listened to and safe in their own homes and where consistency and continuity of support really matter.
We take pride in getting to know each person, understanding what matters to them and carefully matching the right team members to their supports.
We don't believe in simply filling a shift, we believe the person walking through someone's door matters.
One of the things we're most proud of is the feedback we regularly receive about the communication, reliability and genuine care shown by our team.
The people who represent Respectability are a huge part of the reputation we've built, and we don't take that for granted.
We're a strong, supportive and proud team that cares about doing things well and most importantly, doing right by the people who trust us with their support.
If that sounds like the kind of team you'd be proud to be part of, we'd love to hear from you.
How to apply
If you have a kind heart, a great personality and a genuine desire to support people with disabilities, we'd love to hear from you!
Please submit your resume, a cover letter outlining your motivation for the role.
Apply now and join our mission to make a difference in the Taree community.
