27th July, ****We're recruiting 6G Coded Welders for a 7-week shutdown project at a major refinery in Brisbane.
This is a large scope of work with a well-established industrial services contractor, offering robust rates and accommodation support for candidates travelling from interstate.Rates:$*****/hr (day shift)$*****/hr (night shift)Key Duties:Perform 6G coded welding on process pipework in line with relevant Australian Standards and project WPS/WQR requirementsWeld pipe-to-pipe and pipe-to-fitting joints across various materials and wall thicknesses as required by the shutdown scopeCarry out welding in support of flange management, pipe spool replacement, and tank/vessel repair workPrepare and fit up joints prior to welding, including bevelling, tacking, and alignmentConduct visual inspection of welds and rectify defects as requiredWork alongside pipe fitters, boilermakers, and NDT/QA personnel to meet project quality standardsComplete required welding documentation, including weld maps and traceability recordsComplete permits, isolations,



and job safety documentation prior to and during worksRequirements:Trade qualification as a Welder/Boilermaker with current 6G certification (or ability to pass a 6G weld test)Proven industrial shutdown experience — pipework, oil tanks, flange management essentialExperience working in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments highly regardedWillingness to sit a 6G weld test in Brisbane — we can organise this for youConfined Space Entry and Working at Heights tickets (or willingness to obtain)Sound understanding of isolation procedures and permit-to-work systemsPre-employment medical and criminal background check requiredOwn transport/willingness to travel to Brisbane for the duration of the projectProject Details:7-week shutdown project, 8-hour shiftsAccommodation/LAHA ($65/day) and meal allowance provided once on siteCandidates responsible for their own travel to Brisbane
