A snapshot of your new roleAs a senior practitioner, you will lead business analysis across projects, system changes and business improvement initiatives, working closely with stakeholders, subject matter experts, vendors and delivery teams to define business needs, explore solution options and support improved organisational outcomes.
What you'll be doingLeading business process analysis and discovery activities, including mapping current and future state processes, identifying gaps, risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities.Partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to improve corporate systems, services and business processes.Facilitating workshops, discovery sessions and decision forums to clarify business needs, validate requirements and support informed decision-making.Supporting exciting projects across system change, digital solution delivery, process improvement, testing, implementation, transition and handover.Preparing business cases, reports, briefing notes, options analyses, requirements documentation and implementation materials.Working with vendors and service providers to manage faults, enhancement requests and service issues.Using data, data, system information, operational evidence and stakeholder feedback to develop insights, recommendations and decision-support materials.
What you will bring to the roleThis role will suit someone who thrives on working across diverse business areas, facilitating meaningful conversations, and translating business needs into practical solutions that improve how services are delivered.We're ideally looking for an individual with:




A tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analysis, Project Management or a related field, with relevant experience, or less formal qualifications with specialised skills and a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.Proven experience leading end-to-end business process analysis, including process mapping, gap and root cause analysis, stakeholder facilitation and implementation of agreed improvements.Well-developed stakeholder management, negotiation, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across business and technical audiences.Experience delivering business analysis across the project lifecycle, including requirements management, process analysis, solution definition, validation, traceability and benefits realisation.Experience supporting business systems and digital solution delivery, including option analysis, implementation, testing, transition and handover.A sound understanding of Waterfall, Agile and hybrid project delivery approaches.Strong written communication skills, including preparing reports, briefing materials, business documentation and continual improvement recommendations.Current Satisfactory National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
Experience in local government, business analysis certification such as CBAP or equivalent, and experience in training development and delivery will be highly regarded.
