Bimbadgen Estate is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic
Commis Chef
to join our culinary team.
Working alongside experienced chefs across our restaurants, events and hospitality venues, you will play an important role in delivering exceptional dining experiences that showcase the very best of the Hunter Valley.
Our Hunter Valley portfolio includes
Bimbadgen Estate, Palmers Lane and Emma's Cottage
, offering award-winning dining experiences, premium accommodation, weddings, events, wine tourism and luxury hospitality in one of Australia's premier wine regions.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced and supportive kitchen environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef who is eager to learn, develop their skills and work with a passionate team committed to culinary excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and presentation of menu items to established quality standards
Ensure your section is fully prepared and service-ready
Maintain food quality,
consistency and presentation standards
Follow food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures at all times
Monitor stock rotation and assist in reducing food waste
Support efficient service across restaurants, functions and events
Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams
Take direction from senior chefs and contribute positively to the team environment
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Previous kitchen experience (preferred but not essential)
A genuine passion for food and hospitality
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to perform effectively in a busy kitchen workplace
Relevant culinary qualifications (desirable but not essential)
