The City of Swan is building a talent pool of suitable applications to fill potential upcoming General Hand positions across our Parks Maintenance and Natural Areas Maintenance teams.
We're casting a wide net across several specialities, so whether your strength is behind a mower, in the garden bed, or restoring bushland, there's likely a role for you.
Think hands-on, physical work, with team collaboration, and the satisfaction of seeing results of your day's work in our parks, reserves, streetscapes and natural areas.
How the talent pool works:

Suitable applicants are placed in the pool for 3 months from the closing date of the advertisement.
During that time, we may contact you as vacancies arise across the teams
Appointments may be full time, part time, fixed term or permanent, depending on operational requirements and vacancies.
About the roles:

General Hand – Mowing
Keep our parks, reserves and streetscapes looking their best through safe, efficient mowing and general park maintenance, operating ride-on mowers and associated small plant.
Essential: LR class driver's licence, current National Police Clearance, White Card
The salary for this position will be from $73,****** - $74,****** per annum (includes loading), depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant
General Hand – Horticulture
Bring garden beds, parks and streetscapes to life through planting, pruning and horticultural maintenance across the City.
Essential: LR class driver's licence, current National Police Clearance, White Card
The salary for this position will be from $73,****** - $74,****** per annum (includes loading), depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant
General Hand – Arborist
Join our arbor crews carrying out tree pruning, formative pruning and tree felling to keep our urban forest healthy and safe.
Essential: MR class driver's licence, Chainsaw Certification, Certificate II in ESI - Powerline Vegetation Control, current National Police Clearance, White Card
The salary for this position will be from $75,****** - $76,****** per annum (includes loading), depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant
General Hand – Weed Control
Protect our reserves, waterways and natural areas by identifying and controlling weeds using safe, approved methods, including chemical application.
Essential: C Class driver's licence, current National Police Clearance, White Card, Chemical Certificate AQTF Level 3
The salary for this position will be from $75,****** - $76,****** per annum (includes loading), depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant
General Hand – Bush Regeneration
Help restore and conserve local bushland and natural reserves through revegetation, seed collection, weed management and habitat protection work.
Essential: LR driver's licence, current National Police Clearance, White Card, Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent experience
The salary for this position will be from $75,****** - $76,****** per annum (includes loading), depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant
