Operations Manager
What if your next job could change the way people think and support people when life changes forever?
Part-time | 0.6 FTE | Western Australia
At PBF Australia, we have something most organisations don't.
Stories that can change lives.
Our Lived Experience Storytellers take their real experiences of life-changing spinal injury into workplaces, schools and communities not simply to tell their story, but to make people think differently about the choices they make.
At the other end of that journey, our Peer Support team is there when someone has actually experienced a spinal injury providing connection, practical support and the reassurance that comes from talking to someone who truly understands.
This role leads both.
We're looking for someone who knows how to turn lived experience into impact.
You'll lead the reimagining of PBF's
Learning portfolio
, designing, testing and refining programs that combine lived experience, learning science and behaviour change.
You'll also oversee our
Peer Support team
, led by our Peer Support and Wellness Coordinator by supporting the delivery and development of our hospital-based peer support program and the people who support individuals and families following spinal injury.
It's a rare opportunity to work across the full PBF journey:
Influencing safer choices before injury.
Supporting people when injury happens.
Turning lived experience into something that helps others.
This is your opportunity to build what comes next.
You'll have the freedom to challenge what we currently do, create new ideas and turn them into programs and services that genuinely engage people and make a difference.
You'll lead and develop our Lived Experience Storytellers and Peer Support team, while building the systems, capability and quality needed to deliver consistently across Australia.
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone with strong learning design and program development capability who can combine
creativity with leadership and operational discipline.
You may come from learning and development, health promotion, instructional design, behaviour change, education, program management or a related field.
You'll know how to:
Design learning that engages different audiences
Turn ideas, stories and evidence into compelling experiences
Apply learning and behaviour-change principles
Develop and rejuvenate programs and products
Coach people to become confident public speakers and facilitators
Lead teams and build capability
Turn ideas into practical, scalable solutions and measure impact
Experience in disability, injury prevention, social impact or working with lived experience is highly desirable.
An understanding of lived experience is important, whether that comes through your skilled work, personal experience or both.
Why PBF?
You're not coming here to maintain the status quo.
You'll have genuine influence over the future of the national portfolio, work closely with the CEO, develop an extraordinary lived-experience workforce and see your ideas move from concept to real-world impact.
You'll join a
flexible, close-knit and values-driven team
that cares deeply about what it does — and enjoys doing it together- people who take our mission and purpose seriously but not ourselves and people who enjoy a good chat and laugh along the way.
.
If you know how to turn
stories into learning, learning into action and lived experience into support
, we'd love to hear from you.
To apply
Please submit your
CV and a one-page covering letter
explaining what you can bring to PBF Australia and why you want to work here.
Your covering letter is your opportunity to show us how you tell a story — and make us want to keep reading.
