About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Category Specialist to join AGIG and play an influential role in shaping procurement strategies across our operational categories.
Reporting to the Networks Procurement Manager within our Contracts and Procurement team, you will work collaboratively across the business to shape category strategies, build trusted stakeholder and supplier partnerships, and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes.
Managing categories that include high-value and high-risk contracts, you will bring together commercial insight, strategic thinking and strong relationships to develop and deliver Category and sub-Category Plans that balance business needs, value, risk and long-term supplier partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Shape and deliver Category and sub-Category Plans, developing strategies and recommendations that align with AGIG's procurement objectives, business priorities and cost-benefit targets.
Partner with and influence stakeholders to understand business needs, build commitment to category strategies and collaboratively navigate procurement initiatives, process improvements and change.
Develop and lead strategic sourcing initiatives across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle,



coordinating stakeholders and cross-functional resources to deliver practical, value-focused outcomes.
Optimise category and supply strategies by thoughtfully structuring the supply of goods and services, identifying the right supplier base and creating sustainable value across the AGIG Group.
Lead commercial negotiations and contract development, implementation and amendments, balancing commercial outcomes with legal and regulatory compliance, value for money and appropriate risk management.
Build and nurture strategic supplier relationships, managing contract and supplier performance while identifying opportunities to strengthen service, value and continuous improvement.
Measure and demonstrate procurement value, establishing meaningful performance measures, tracking delivery against Category Plan and cost-benefit targets, and ensuring alignment with AGIG's Procurement Policy and Procedures.
About You
5–10 years' experience in category management and/or strategic procurement, with demonstrated capability across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle.
Strong strategic sourcing experience, including developing category strategies, sourcing approaches and procurement solutions that respond to business and operational needs.
Demonstrated commercial and contracting capability, including contract development, complex negotiations, contract management and balancing commercial value with appropriate risk.
Experience building trusted supplier relationships, managing supplier and contract performance and working collaboratively to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, build trust, cultivate team-oriented relationships and support stakeholders through change.
A sound understanding of supply chain management and procurement performance, including experience establishing, measuring and reporting procurement metrics and commercial benefits.
A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or equivalent experience, together with MCIPS membership, progress towards MCIPS,



or a willingness to work towards this accreditation.
