The Role

/n

As a Casual Education Assistant, you will support Communicare Academy Teachers to deliver educational programs and assist students to achieve their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural goals in a secure and inclusive learning environment. In addition, you will:

/n

/n

- Participate in and contribute to Academy professional development programs and improvement initiatives

/n

- Provide input on best practice for students with special needs

/n

- Engage with parents/guardians/carers and other key stakeholders under the supervision of the classroom teacher

/n

- Assist students individually and in small groups with learning activities

/n

- Create safe relationships with students, build confidence and self-esteem in students and maintain strong professional boundaries

/n

- Shows care for students' educational needs and work with them and the teacher to identify which strategies are useful for their success

/n/n

This is a casual position and is located at Communicare Academy in Kenwick.

/n

About You

/n

The successful applicants will possess:

/n

/n

- Minimum of Certificate III in Education Support or extensive relevant experience

/n

- Ability to develop,



implement and report on individual learning programs

/n

- Working knowledge of disabilities, including, but not limited to, autism, dyslexia, ADHD, ODD

/n

- Experience in engaging with, motivating and inspiring at risk, disengaged young people

/n

- High level computer skills

/n

- Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)

/n

- Proven positive classroom behaviour management

/n

- Team-oriented mindset and excellent interpersonal skills

/n/n
