National Program | Major Operational Environment | Safety-Critical Projects
Are you a Project Manager who thrives on delivering complex, high-impact projects where safety, technology and operational excellence come together?
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a significant national Safety Infrastructure Program, delivering projects across a large network of operational and supply chain sites.
You'll be responsible for taking safety initiatives from concept and design through procurement, installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring every solution is delivered safely, commercially, on time and with lasting operational impact.
This is more than a traditional project management role. You'll be helping to create safer workplaces for thousands of people, while introducing innovative technology and infrastructure designed to prevent incidents before they happen.
The Opportunity
As Safety Infrastructure Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a national portfolio of safety-focused infrastructure and technology projects across operational sites.
The program includes initiatives such as:

- Loading dock safety and integration works
- AI-enabled CCTV and hazard detection technology
- Collision avoidance systems for forklifts and materials handling equipment
- Integration of dock infrastructure including lighting, levellers, restraints and doors
- Site-based safety improvements and operational controls
You'll work across multiple locations and stakeholder groups, bringing together internal teams, contractors, technology providers and operational leaders to deliver projects that make a tangible difference.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a national safety infrastructure program, from initiation through to project close-out.
- Manage planning, design coordination, procurement, implementation, commissioning, handover and post-project activities.
- Deliver multiple projects concurrently across live operational environments.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, quality, safety and compliance.
- Coordinate with IT, Safety, Health & Environment, operations, site leadership, contractors, vendors and frontline teams.
- Oversee the installation and integration of safety infrastructure and technology solutions.
- Manage contractors throughout installation, testing, defect rectification and operational handover.
- Lead site readiness, communication, training and change management activities.
- Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, interfaces and issues.
- Provide clear governance, reporting and escalation to senior leadership.
- Ensure solutions are embedded effectively at site level and deliver sustainable safety outcomes.

- A strong safety mindset and the confidence to balance delivery requirements with operational risk and compliance.
- Excellent commercial and contractor management capability.
- Strong risk, dependency and interface management skills.
- Experience translating technical and safety requirements into practical site-level solutions.
- Strong communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
