About the Role
Reporting to the Education Manager Business, Management and Finance, this role is responsible for the planning, delivery, assessment and continuous improvement of vocational and non‑vocational education and fee‑for‑service programs across a variety of learning environments.
You will manage the student learning lifecycle from initial course enquiries through to the implementation of individualized teaching using flexible, inclusive and contemporary teaching strategies. The role also contributes to the design and development of educational resources, establishes and maintains industry partnerships, and supports quality teaching, compliance and continuous improvement across the department.

What You'll Do

Plan, prepare, teach and assess learning activities that meet learner needs
Establish and maintain safe, inclusive learning environments using diverse teaching methods
Support student participation, learning plans and reasonable adjustments to meet individual learner needs
Develop and maintain high‑quality teaching, assessment and learning resources
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and assessment in accordance with Melbourne Polytechnic policies
Work within quality systems and participate in validation and moderation activities
Establish and maintain networks with industry, relevant VET bodies and other stakeholders
Participate in student entry‑level assessments, course selection interviews and orientation activities where applicable




Participate in professional development to maintain educational and vocational currency

Actively contribute to team‑based program delivery and departmental objectives

What You'll Bring (Essential)

Relevant vocational qualifications and current industry experience in Work Health and Safety
Demonstrated commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti‑Discrimination, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
Ability to establish industry partnerships and contribute to student engagement
Excellent ICT skills to support teaching, e‑learning and reporting requirements
Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Well‑developed teaching skills, including the ability to use a range of teaching and assessment strategies to meet diverse learner needs

Demonstrated understanding of learning principles, teaching methodologies and learner‑centred teaching practices

Desirable

Knowledge of current issues in vocational education and training, particularly as they relate to Work Health and Safety

Experience teaching or assessing within a VET environment

Appointment to this position is subject to meeting the qualification requirements (where applicable) and the successful completion of all mandatory employment checks.
