This site-based contract opportunity offers the chance to join a major mining operation, supporting a diverse portfolio of brownfield projects across processing plant infrastructure and operational facilities.

Working closely with site stakeholders, contractors and engineering teams, you will deliver a range of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical projects focused on improving plant reliability, safety and operational capability.

Role Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of capital and sustaining projects within a large-scale mining and processing environment.

Reporting to the Projects Team, you will manage multiple concurrent projects from planning through to execution, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget. The project portfolio includes civil concrete works, earthworks, SMP projects, safe access infrastructure, pumps, piping upgrades, drainage improvements and flood mitigation initiatives, along with electrical infrastructure upgrades across the processing operation.

You will play a key role in contractor management, stakeholder engagement, project coordination and site execution while maintaining a solid focus on safety, quality and operational outcomes.

This position is offered as a 12-month contract on a 5:2 / 4:3 roster based in the South West region of Western Australia. The role will initially be site-based before transitioning into a flexible hybrid arrangement following onboarding and familiarisation.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Degree qualification in Engineering or related discipline
- Proven Project Engineering experience within mining, minerals processing or heavy industry
- Experience delivering brownfield capital and sustaining projects
- Strong contractor and stakeholder management capability
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules and project controls
- Sound understanding of project execution within operational processing facilities
- Knowledge of construction management principles and site-based delivery
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and construction activities
- Strong safety leadership and risk management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Project delivery tools
- Current Australian working rights

Desirable Experience

- Processing plant project experience within gold, base metals or bulk commodities
- Experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects
- Exposure to switchboard upgrades and HV/LV electrical systems
- Experience managing SMP installation projects
- Knowledge of drainage, earthworks and civil infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with 33kV power distribution systems
- Experience working within owner-operator mining environments
- Exposure to project commissioning and operational handover processes

Duties & Responsibilities





- Manage the delivery of multiple concurrent brownfield projects
- Coordinate project activities from planning through to completion
- Oversee contractors and site execution teams
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget
- Manage project risks, opportunities and change requirements
- Coordinate engineering, procurement and construction activities
- Support the delivery of civil concrete and earthworks projects
- Deliver SMP upgrade works across operating plant areas
- Manage projects involving pumps, piping and process infrastructure
- Coordinate drainage and flood mitigation initiatives
- Support electrical infrastructure upgrades including switchboard replacements
- Manage HV and LV power distribution upgrade projects
- Coordinate installation of power line extensions and transformer infrastructure
- Conduct stakeholder engagement across operations, maintenance and technical teams
- Monitor contractor performance against project objectives
- Support commissioning, handover and project close-out activities
- Ensure compliance with site standards, procedures and legislative requirements
