Digital Metro North is the technology and digital delivery arm of Metro North Health, Australia's largest hospital and health service. The team works closely with clinicians and partners including eHealth Queensland to deliver the systems, infrastructure and support that enable safe, high-quality patient care every day.
Driving a significant digital transformation agenda, Digital Metro North is currently implementing the integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) across the health service, delivering major digital initiatives under the Queensland Government's Hospital Rescue Plan, and executing the three-year Digital Delivery Plan. These programs are shaping a connected, digital-first healthcare environment that supports new models of care, improves patient outcomes and enhances clinician experience.
About the Role
Reporting to the Nursing Director, Clinical Informatics Director this role is to provide advanced clinical expertise and care relevant to the effective digital business and clinical practices for the delivery of Clinical Informatics. Provide support and system administration functions across multiple clinical applications including ieMR, Q-Flow, and Patient Flow Manager. Develop responses to address emerging service needs in relation to facility and site based clinical informatics teams and stakeholders.
- This role is part time with the standard hours of operation being 8:00am – 4:30pm, Thursday and Friday.
- Flexible working arrangements such as variable working hours, working from home and flex accrual may be supported.
Key knowledge and experience
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in clinical informatics support and system administration functions where applicable, across multiple clinical applications including but not limited to ieMR, TrendCare, Q-Flow and Patient Flow Manager.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement in relation to clinical informatics, training and adoption.
- Responsible for the professional development of self and others utilising contemporary practice in the delivery of improved standards of care.
- May work across professional and organisational boundaries to influence health service and/or professional outcomes in relation to area of expertise.
