About the role

The Ranger reports to the Ranger Team Leader and plays a key role within the Albert Park Visitor Experience portfolio. The position encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including facilities and asset management, regulatory compliance, project and event delivery and lake & land management within a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team workplace. The role may also involve the supervision of contractors, volunteers and casual staff.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a collaborative approach, contributing to a high-performing team and the delivery of exceptional park management services. Flexibility and responsiveness to operational requirements are essential in ensuring positive visitor and environmental outcomes.

Your day-to-day duties may include:

- Contractor Management: Manage contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality outcomes.
- Asset Inspections: Inspect and monitor park assets and visitor facilities to maintain safe and welcoming public spaces.
- Asset Management: Maintain a diverse range of park infrastructure to support visitor safety and experience.
- Event Management: Coordinate event approvals and delivery, working closely with stakeholders and internal teams.
- Project Management:



Plan and deliver minor works projects, including procurement, contract management, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery.

The Albert Park Operations team comprises four functional areas: Visitor Experience, Horticulture, Grand Prix and Sports and Car Parking Administration. While this role sits within the Visitor Experience team, you will regularly collaborate across all teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for visitors and the wider community.

We're looking for someone with:

- Relevant qualifications or trade experience in environmental, land management, asset management, or related disciplines.




- Good personal verbal and written communication skills and confidence to engage with other staff, park visitors and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and personal organisation, time management and ability to work autonomously and with initiative.
- A proactive, solutions-focused and collaborative approach with demonstrated commitment to quality outcomes.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Availability for weekend and public holiday work as required (30 weekend days per annum)
- A current Employee Working with Children Check.
- An MR driving licence or higher (desirable)
