Due to continued growth and upcoming project demands, we are seeking experienced Data Technicians to join our team for ongoing work on major data centre projects across Melbourne.
About the Role: Working on large-scale data centre construction and fit-out projects, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of structured cabling systems within critical infrastructure environments. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team on some of Melbourne’s most significant data centre developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and termination of Cat6A and fibre optic cabling
- Installing and dressing cables within trays, baskets, and containment systems
- Fibre patching, testing, and troubleshooting
- Rack and stack installation
- Testing and certification of cabling infrastructure
- Reading and interpreting drawings and network layouts
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and documentation
- Working within live and construction-stage data centre environments
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience working as a Data Technician/Data Cabling Technician in live data centre environments
- Robust structured cabling experience across copper and fibre networks
- Experience terminating and testing fibre optic and Cat6A cabling
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated data centre project experience
- Data cabling registration/licence (ACMA)
- White Card
- Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Full Australian working rights
Please note: Due to project requirements, only candidates with demonstrated data centre experience as a Data Technician or Data Cabling Technician will be considered.
