You'll make a tangible impact on the people of NSW, using your finance and accounting skills to help build a sustainable and thriving transport network for generations to come.

In this role, you'll:

Be supporting the Senior Cost Controller on the Regional Rail and Future Fleet infrastructure projects. You will provide end-to-end cost management support across both projects ensuring cost information is accurate, timely, and aligned with project objectives.

More specifically you will:

- Implement and maintain project cost control plans and work breakdown structures.
- Assist with managing project actuals and forecasts, annual budgets and Estimate at Completion (EAC) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop cost forecasts and time-phased financial plans aligned to project schedules and procurement activities.
- Support project change control processes, resource forecasting and cost reconciliation activities.
- Ensure project cost data is accurately captured, maintained and reported within relevant systems and tools.
- Monitor commitments, actual expenditure, contingencies, risks, opportunities and forecast costs.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc cost performance reports to support project and program decision-making.
- Manage monthly accruals, cost recoveries, budget transfers and project financial close activities.
- Build effective working relationships across project, commercial, finance and stakeholder groups to support project success.

About you

You are a proactive and detail-oriented cost management professional with experience working in complex, high-risk project environments.

You have strong analytical and financial management skills,



the ability to communicate cost management concepts to diverse stakeholders, and a track record of delivering accurate financial information that supports project performance and governance.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in cost management, project controls, financial analysis or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of cost forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting and cost risk management practices.
- Proven ability to work effectively in complex environments and adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to influence and communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of financial knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical capability and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
- Experience using financial, project controls and reporting systems, such as PMWeb and SAP to support project delivery.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
